Sloane Hutson

Owner

Hi, my name is Sloane Hutson. I am the owner, program director and an instructor here at Fit in 30. I am 50 years old and I can do most of the same things I did in my 20’s. ( the recovery may be longer J) My fitness goals have changed over the years but feeling strong and healthy have always been a top priority for me. I am a wife, a mother and a fitness enthusiast all wrapped up into one.

I have three children, one just completed college, one is a sophomore in college and one is a sophomore in high school.  They are all active and play sports, so we are a busy family. I am blessed to have both of my girls work out at the studio with me. I love sharing my love of fitness with them. I graduated from Western with a degree in education. I taught 5th and 6th grade before staying home to raise my children and taught preschool once they were school age. I have been the owner of Fit in 30 for 8 years. My passion to teach carries over in the Studio. The motto no child gets left behind is true in our Studio. I want ALLof our clients to be successful and I will change, adapt and push you to reach your desired goals.

I am ACE certified to personal train. I am certified in TRX, RIPPED, TABATA, Barre Above and my new certification is Transform Live.  I love to learn and I feel if I am going to offer a class I should have a good understanding of how it is to be taught. I am a middle aged mom who loves her family and loves her job. I try to create an environment that empowers women of all ages  and helps them to feel good about themselves. I am approachable, encouraging and realistic. We are all just trying to be better than the day before and to keep our age just a number.

Dawn Bonifer

ACE Certified Personal Trainer

Hi.  I’m Dawn Bonifer. I have been married to my husband, Phil, for almost 32 years. My oldest daughter Danielle is married to Tony and  they have my Grandsons Owen (4) and Leo(1). Sydney, my middle daughter just graduated with her Master’s from GVSU.   My son Drew will be a sophomore at WMU in the fall.

I have been working out at Fit In 30 for eight years. My friend, Teri, invited me to come with her and I fell in love with this workout from the get go!!  Through FI30’s vigorous workouts and with cleaner eating I was able to lose over 30 pounds and maintain it, for the most part, for around seven years. The workouts are anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on which class you are doing.  Sloane always keeps the workouts fresh and challenging.  Boredom is never an issue because the format/programming is always changing.  I will be 54 in September and feel healthier and fitter than I did in my 30’s.  I believe in FI30’s program so much that I became an ACE Certified Personal Trainer in 2013 so I could go to work for Sloane and share my passion with all of you. We have added so many dimensions to FI30 over the years. Every time I look through a fitness magazine, I see things we are doing at FI30 every day. Sloane, along with all of the trainers, are constantly continuing our education in fitness and nutrition to make what we offer the latest and greatest for all of you!!

Courtney Pyatte

Tabata Trainer

My name is Courtney Pyatte.  I have been married to my husband for 23 years and have two children in college.  I have struggled with depression and anxiety for more than 20 years.  Over the years, I have made up every excuse not to exercise; Even trying crazy unhealthy 500 calorie a day diets, HCG shots and pills.  All of it left me gaining back every ounce that I had lost.

When my family and I relocated to Battle Creek from Florida in 2011, I was struggling to adjust to my new surroundings and make friends. A good friend had recommended Fit In 30 to me.  When I found out their classes were built around being 30 minutes and fit with my schedule, I realized it was time for me  to stop making excuses and give it a try.  Everyone has 30 minutes for their health, right?!  I started coming to Fit In 30 a few days a week at first and I was immediately welcomed by the women in the studio. I loved it so much that I then committed to five days a week.  I loved the changing exercise routines, the other clients that were supportive to me and that I had finally found a remedy for my anxiety.  It helped me not only with my mental health but my physical health as well. I became certified in Tabata and started teaching class at Fit In 30. The connections and friendships I have made at the studio will stay with me for the rest of my life.
I have found fitness success and I am truly addicted to the way it makes me feel and the motivation I get from my fitness family at Fit In 30.

Teri Seedorff

Trainer

My name is Teri Seedorff. I have been married to my husband, Mike, for 30 years. I have two married children – Luke (Alyssa) and their son Boone and Madison (Joel). I have worked in outpatient physical therapy locally as PTA for over 20 years.

I have always enjoyed exercise and was so excited to find a fitness studio that was conveniently located as well as a place that offered class times that worked with my busy schedule. I have had numerous orthopedic surgeries (including bilateral knee replacements) so finding a place to workout that would not cause me increased pain, allow for modifications yet continue to be challenging physically was a concern of mine. The always changing exercise routines keep me coming back!  I am so grateful for Fit in 30.

Fit in 30 not only offers a great place to exercise, it is place to find like-minded people who offer support and encouragement when you need it most. I love it when a new member comes to the gym because it is fun to not only get to know them personally, it is also a pleasure to help them get comfortable at the studio and watch them challenge themselves physically.

Through my professional affiliations, I am a Certified Pilates Instructor as well as Barre Above certified. I love teaching at Fit in 30 because it gives me a chance to share my love of exercise as well as challenge the members who attend my classes.  I have made so many friends through Fit in 30 that I socialize with outside of the studio. They truly are my fitness family.

Kathy Mann

Trainer

Hi, I’m Kathy Mann. I have been married to Doug for 31 years and we enjoy our three children, Jeremy, Becca, and Jeffrey. We are an active family and we center our lives based upon faith, fitness, and friends.

I was invited to check out an exercise class at Fit In 30 on January 1, 2015 by my friend, and have been happily attending classes since then! Sloane’s workouts are always varied and challenging and the friendships are priceless. I have worked out at different exercise venues and can say that Fit In 30 is “my home”.

My newest passion is endurance racing.  I have completed a Half Ironman (70.3 mile complete: swim; bike; run) in 2018 and am getting ready to conquer the Mackinac Straits with a 4 mile open water swim under the bridge (August 2019).  I feel I am more competitive and healthier because of the strength training I receive at Fit in 30.

Professionally, I have always chosen to pursue physical fitness and health. I attended Oakland University where I earned my Physical Therapist degree. I practiced in multiple settings but specialized in pediatric neuro-rehabilitation. I continued my education at Western Michigan University where I earned two Masters in Communication and Science Education with an emphasis in Holistic Health. I have been an instructor for 26 years teaching anatomy, physiology, and physical education. I also have certification in Yoga and Pilates and am a NETA Personal Trainer. I so appreciate the opportunity to share my passion with friends at Fit In 30!

Carrie Nyboer

Personal Trainer

Hi, I’m Carrie Nyboer. I am a mom of two great MS aged (almost 1 in HS – eek!) kids. I’ve been married to my husband, Chad, for 17 years. I have been fortunate to be a SAHM (stay at home mom) since my oldest was one.
I was a very active kid, in dance and figure skating, but by the time I hit the end of junior high, I chose more social activities than physical ones and which resulted in me being overweight in my teenage and early adult years. I eventually found a love of exercise (TaeBo anyone?) as a way to help me keep my weight in check. After having kids, I found that exercise also was a great stress reliever. I started my teaching career, about five years ago, with Zumba, because of my dance background, my BA degree in Dance from WMU and just how fun I found the classes. Initially, I didn’t have a gym or a venue to teach at so I taught at my kids’ elementary school & asked for donations that all went to the school. It was a great giving and learning experience. I eventually found a gym to teach at and have been learning and growing as an instructor ever since. I wanted to branch out so I also obtained a license for Aqua Zumba and Strong by Zumba. I also have a certification in Les Mills BodyCombat. I love what I do and was looking to expand even more and recently became a certified Personal Trainer.
I was introduced to Sloane and Fi30 a couple of years ago and loved the 30 minute concept and all the knowledge, experience and variety Sloane offered. I look forward to partnering with her and Fi30, and offering her clients a one-on-one plan in an environment that is free from distraction and judgement, and that moves at the individual’s pace.
